It's a well-known fact that the earlier cancer is detected, the greater the chance of survival, so here are seven symptoms you shouldn't ignore.
Despite this, a 2022 Cancer Research UK (CRUK) poll found that only 48% of those who experienced a red-flag symptom contacted their doctor within six months.
Dr. Julie Sharp, CRUK's head of health and patient development, said many symptoms besides “coughing up blood or unexplained bleeding” can be linked to cancer.
Here are some cancer symptoms you should get checked out immediately:
Unexplained Pain
If “unexplained pain” persists it's important to get it checked out as it “could be a sign of something more serious," said Sharp.
Unexplained Weight Loss
Sharp believes that "if you lose a noticeable amount of weight without trying," you should tell your doctor.
Changes To Skin
A sore that won't heal, a new mole or a change in a mole's shape, color or size should be considered a red flag.
Unusual Lumps Or Swelling
Persistent lumps or swelling to any body part including the neck, armpit, stomach, groin, chest, breast or testicle should be taken very seriously.
